William Clark Gable, more widely known as Clark Gable, was born on February 1, 1901 in Cadiz, Ohio. His zodiac sign is Aquarius and his ethnicity is German-American. He is the son of William Henry Gable and Adeline Hershelman, and he had four brothers. His father died when he was 7 months old and his mother later remarried a man by the name of Edward S. Willard. 

Gable began to pursue a career in acting after being inspired by a theatre production at Fairmount High School. He then moved to Hollywood and started appearing in small roles in films. In 1931 he starred in “The Painted Desert” which brought him stardom, leading to roles in classics such as “Red Dust” (1932), “It Happened One Night” (1934) for which he won an Academy Award, “Mutiny on the Bounty” (1935), “Gone with the Wind” (1939), and many others.

Gable became one of the most popular movie stars of all time due to his rugged masculinity and charm. From 1936-42 he was named the box office champion for seven years in a row by Motion Picture Herald magazine. For his contribution to cinema, he received two stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame for motion pictures and television respectively.

Gable married five times during his life and had three children from two of his marriages - John Clark Gable from his fifth marriage with Kay Spreckels; Judy Lewis from his fourth marriage with Loretta Young; and Gina Lollobrigida from his third marriage with Carole Lombard. 

Clark Gable passed away due to coronary thrombosis on November 16th 1960 aged 59 at The UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
