Davy Jones was born on December 30, 1945 in Manchester, England. He was the son of a musician and an artist, and he grew up surrounded by music. He became involved in musical theater at a young age, and began his professional career as a singer at the age of fifteen. 

His first major success came with the band The Monkees, which was formed in 1965 for a television show. The group quickly became popular for their catchy songs and fun personalities. They had several hits throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s including “Daydream Believer” and “Last Train to Clarksville”. 

Jones went on to have a successful solo career following his time with The Monkees. In 1976, he released his debut album “David Jones” which featured the hit single “Girl”. He also appeared in several films throughout the late 1970s and 1980s including “Head” (1968), “Lazy Sunday” (1975), and “The Pride Of Stompersville” (1980). 

In 2012, Jones passed away from a heart attack at the age of 66. His legacy lives on through his music and influence on many generations of fans.
