Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr. is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, record producer, and film producer. He is a founding member of the boy band New Kids on the Block.

Donnie Wahlberg was born on August 17, 1969, in Dorchester, Massachusetts. His zodiac sign is Leo and his ethnicity is Irish-American. He is the eighth of nine children born to mother Alma McPeck and father Donald Edmond Wahlberg Sr., and he was raised in a Catholic household.

At a young age, Wahlberg began studying martial arts and dance. He was part of the 1980s pop group New Kids on the Block (NKOTB), which released their first album in 1986. The band's success made him an international teen idol, and they had five top ten singles on the U.S. Hot 100 chart between 1988-90. In 1994, he left NKOTB to pursue an acting career.

In 1996, Wahlberg appeared in Renny Harlin's action flick The Long Kiss Goodnight alongside Geena Davis, Samuel L Jackson and Craig Bierko. His performance earned him critical acclaim and an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Performance. In 1997, he starred in another action movie called The Jackal alongside Bruce Willis and Richard Gere; this role also earned him more critical praise and awards recognition. 

Wahlberg has since gone on to appear in a number of other films such as Southie (1998), Three Kings (1999), Planet of the Apes (2001) , Saw II (2005) , Righteous Kill (2008), Zookeeper (2011) , Blue Bloods (2010-present). He also starred in the A&E reality series Wahlburgers with his brothers Mark and Paul which aired from 2014-2019. Aside from his acting career, Wahlberg has also ventured into producing movies such as The Sixth Sense (1999).
