James Arthur is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame after winning the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012. His debut single, a cover of Shontelle's "Impossible", was released by Syco Music after the final, and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart.
James Andrew Arthur was born on March 2, 1988 in Middleborough, England. He attended the prestigious Singer Stage School and his father was a self-employed plumber. In 2013, he released his debut single “Impossible” which became an instant hit, reaching number one in several countries including the UK and Ireland. His debut album Back from the Edge followed in 2016 which included hit singles such as “Say You Won’t Let Go” and “Can I Be Him”.
