Alessia Caracciolo, known professionally as Alessia Cara, is a Canadian singer-songwriter. Born in Mississauga, Canada, to Italian parents, she began posting covers of songs on YouTube at age 13.

At the age of 18, she signed with EP Entertainment & Def Jam Recordings and released her debut single “Here” in 2015. Her debut album Know-It-All (2015) peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was certified platinum by Music Canada and gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Cara has won four Juno Awards and one Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2018. In 2019, she released her second studio album The Pains of Growing which debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 albums chart. She has collaborated with artists such as Zedd, Logic, Khalid, Shawn Mendes and Ryan Reynolds among others. Cara has also acted in films such as Miles from Tomorrowland (2016) and Blockers (2018).
