Alice Cooper was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 4, 1948. He is an American rock singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the early 1970s with his shock rock persona. His birth name is Vincent Damon Furnier and he adopted the name “Alice Cooper” when he joined a band of the same name in 1968.

Alice Cooper’s first album as a solo artist, “Welcome to My Nightmare,” was released in 1975 and was a huge success, spawning hit singles like “Only Women Bleed” and “Steven.” In addition to his solo work, Alice Cooper has also been involved with numerous bands over the years including Hollywood Vampires, which featured Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp.

Alice Cooper is known for his outrageous live performances which often feature props such as guillotines, electric chairs and fake blood. He has earned numerous awards throughout his career including a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for his single “Poison.” He has also been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
