Anna Kay Faris is an American actress. She rose to prominence for her work in comedic roles, particularly the lead part of Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie film series.
Anna Kay Faris was born on November 29, 1976, in Baltimore, Maryland. She is an American actress, comedian, and producer. Anna is the daughter of Karen (Bathurst) and Jack Faris, who worked as a sociologist. Her siblings are brother Robert and sister-in-law Kelly Faris.
Anna started her career as a television actress in the late 1990s, appearing in shows such as “Empty Nest” (1995), “Boy Meets World” (1997–1998), “Friends” (1998), and “Daddio” (2000). In 1999, she made her film debut in the teen comedy “Loser” alongside Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari. This was followed by appearances in other comedies such as “Scary Movie” (2000), “Just Friends” (2005), and “The House Bunny" (2008).
In 2007, she received an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Comedic Performance for her role in the romantic comedy "The House Bunny". The following year, she starred in the hit comedy "What's Your Number?" alongside Chris Evans. She has also voiced characters for animated films such as "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" (2009) and its sequel "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" (2013); “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" (2009); and "The Emoji Movie" (2017).
In addition to acting, Anna has written two books: "Unqualified" (2016) and "My Mom's Got No Filter: How To Love And Accept Your Parent Unconditionally" (2020). She also served as executive producer on the web series "Mommywood". In 2020 she launched a podcast titled ‘Anna Faris Is Unqualified'.
