Jamie Lee Curtis was born on November 22, 1958, in Los Angeles, California. Her zodiac sign is Scorpio and her ethnicity is English-German. She is the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, two well-known Hollywood actors of the 1950s and ‘60s. She has two siblings, Kelly Curtis and Allegra Curtis. As a child, she struggled with dyslexia and found school challenging. 

In 1975 she made her film debut in Halloween as Laurie Strode. This role earned her the title "scream queen" which she has held ever since. In 1978 she starred in Prom Night as Kim Hammond, for which she received critical acclaim. She later went on to star in films like Trading Places (1983), A Fish Called Wanda (1988) and True Lies (1994).

Curtis continued to have success throughout the 1990s and 2000s with roles in films such as Freaky Friday (2003), Christmas With The Kranks (2004) and You Again (2010). In recent years Curtis has appeared on television shows like New Girl, Scream Queens and NCIS. 

Curtis is a Golden Globe winner for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her performance in A Fish Called Wanda in 1989. She also won a BAFTA for Best Actress for that same movie. She has been nominated for several other awards including Emmy Awards and Saturn Awards.
