Clifford Smith, better known by his stage name Method Man, was born on March 2, 1971 in Hempstead, New York. He is an American rapper, producer and actor. He is best known as a member of the hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan, who rose to fame with their 1993 debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

Method Man began his career as part of the group Wu-Tang Clan and released his first solo album Tical in 1994, which was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He has gone on to release seven more solo albums and multiple collaborations with other artists. Method Man has also acted in numerous films, including Belly (1998), How High (2001) and Garden State (2004). In addition to music and film, Method Man has been involved in various business ventures, including launching his own record label and clothing line.
