He is the son of Basil Fanshawe "Joe" Jagger and Eva Ensley Mary Scutts. He has two siblings; an older brother named Christopher Mark Jagger and a younger sister named Julia Katherine Jagger.

Jagger began singing at an early age and formed The Rolling Stones with classmate Keith Richards in 1962. They played their first gig at London's Marquee Club in 1963. After several lineup changes, the band released their debut album "The Rolling Stones" in 1964 which spawned hit singles such as "Satisfaction", "Time Is On My Side" and "It's All Over Now". The band would go on to release numerous critically acclaimed albums such as "Sticky Fingers", "Exile on Main St." and "Goat's Head Soup".

Throughout his career, Mick Jagger has been recognized for his songwriting ability with multiple Grammy Awards including Song of the Year for the song "God Gave Me Everything". He also received a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for the song "Old Habits Die Hard" from the film Alfie (2004). In 2003 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to music.

Jagger has enjoyed a successful solo career releasing four studio albums since 1985. He has also acted in various films including Performance (1970), Freejack (1992) and The Man From Elysian Fields (2002). In addition to acting, he has produced documentaries such as Being Mick (2001) and Shine A Light (2008).
