Anthony Kiedis is an American singer and songwriter. He is a founding member and lead vocalist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kiedis and his fellow band members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

Anthony Kiedis is an American rock singer, songwriter and actor born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 1, 1962. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers since its formation in 1983. Kiedis’ father was a poet, and his mother was an actress; however, he was raised mostly by his maternal grandfather who introduced him to punk music at an early age.

Kiedis attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles and formed a friendship with fellow student Flea during this time. The pair eventually joined forces with several other musicians to form the band Anthym, which went through several lineup changes before becoming the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1983.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Kiedis wrote some of the band’s most successful songs including “Give It Away” and “Under The Bridge” which helped propel them to fame. In addition to his work with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiedis has acted in several films including Point Break (1991) and The Chase (1994) as well as hosting Saturday Night Live in 1998. He has also released two solo albums: Scar Tissue (2004) and Dark Necessities (2016). In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame along with other Red Hot Chili Peppers members.
