About

Draymond Jamal Green was born on March 4, 1990, in Saginaw, Michigan. He is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for Michigan State University where he earned All-American honors and was a consensus second team All-American his senior year.

Green was drafted by the Warriors with the 35th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. As a rookie, Green quickly became a key rotation player for Golden State and has since developed into one of the league's best defensive players. In 2016, he won his first championship with the Warriors after they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games in the NBA Finals. He was named to his first All-Star Game that same year and earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2017.

In 2018, Green helped lead the Warriors to their third title in four years as they swept LeBron James and the Cavaliers in four games. He was also named to his fourth All-Star game that season and finished third in voting for Defensive Player of The Year behind Rudy Gobert and Joel Embiid. That summer, he signed a five-year $82 million contract extension with Golden State through 2023–24 season. Since then, he has become an integral part of their dynasty leading them to three more consecutive championships from 2019–2021

Green is known for being an outspoken leader both on and off the court. He has spoken out about racial injustice and champion initiatives like #BlackLivesMatter movement and other social justice causes. His passionate playstyle has made him one of the most popular players among fans across all of sports.
