Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988, in Akron, Ohio. He is the son of Dell and Sonya Curry, both former professional basketball players. Stephen has two siblings: Seth and Sydel. He was named Southern Conference Player of the Year twice (2008 and 2009), becoming the first player in conference history to do so.
In 2009, Curry declared for the NBA Draft and was selected by the Golden State Warriors as the seventh overall pick. In just his second year with the team, he set an NBA record by making 272 three-pointers in a single season. He won his first MVP award in 2015 after leading the Warriors to their first championship in 40 years, and won back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.
Throughout his career, Curry has been named to seven All-Star teams, has won two regular season MVP awards (2015 and 2016), has been named to five All-NBA Teams (First Team three times), four All-Defensive Teams (Second Team twice) and four All-Star Game MVP awards (2016–19).
